Meeting the client was life affirming. This was someone with a vision; one rooted in serving others and a firm belief that healthcare provision could be done better.
As interior designers, we listen closely to the story and retell it in imaginative and creative ways. From the start, we are incorporating practical, technical and space needs, with functionality, building codes, health and safety considerations, brand identity and budget limitations. I love all of it, but in this project, the best part was designing to combine our innate human need to connect with the natural world with the client’s vision of providing a comfortable environment for patients, from infancy to the golden years, fostering a sense of calm and wellbeing at a time which can sometimes feel unnatural and scary.
